Pleasantine is awarded the 2025 BSDB Wolpert Medal!

With an ability to distil biology’s most engaging and fundamental problems into concise and well-grounded core concepts, Lewis Wolpert was known not only for his important contributions to research in our field, but also to the communication of its problems to a broader audience. Since his passing in 2021, the British Society for Cell Biology has awarded an annual medal in his honour to ‘an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the teaching and communication of Developmental Biology’….

The award will be presented at the upcoming Company of Biologists@100 conference in Liverpool on Tuesday 25th March 2025.

Nominated for her science and leadership, ‘in recognition of her heroic efforts to promote equitable and open scientific communication and for inspiring a new wave of developmental biologists’, Pleasantine will receive the medal in Liverpool at the upcoming Company of Biologists@100 centennial meeting.
