Emma and Dhivya's work on roles and requirements for everyone's favorite condensates- centriolar satellites- is now pre-printed!

Fantastic tag team work by Emma in vivo in mouse models complented by Dhivya’s work in KO RPE1 cells shows how PCM1 regulates mother centriole remodelling for timely ciliogenesis by regulating removal of another ‘dynamic duo’ CP110/CEP97 to allow axoneme extension! Without PCM1, mutant mice get through embryogenesis ok but have partially penetrant perinatal lethality with a slew of ciliopathy phenotypes including hydrocephaly, infertility, cerebellar defects and cystic kidneys. Great collaborative work between our lab and Reiter lab, with a little help from Suzy Prosser and Laurence Pelletier in dynamic changes at satellites in a cell cycle manner!
